Possession Of My Heart: The Three Immortal Blades by Kia Carrington-Russell‏

Kia Carrington-Russell is a young author working on her first series: “The Three Immortal Blades”. Kia began writing at the age of fifteen in high school- finding that all her warped and strange dreams were giving her a fantastic new world- and since then she has never looked back.

Kia was born in a small town in Australia, moving around a lot at a young age until finding a stable town where she finished her schooling. Kia found herself enjoying and expressing herself through poetry, short stories and writing, photography, painting and drawing. All these mediums help Kia express the different world that she is so fond of.

In ‘Senior Art’ Kia focused on feminism and female empowerment; exposing through her work issues and concerns that many people would rather just “sweep under the rug”.

In one art installation, Kia made a bed out of Pokémon cards- the concept being that when she slept a new world would come to life and it was the only one she saw and constantly lived in.

Kia now focuses on her photography, writing and self-help blogs on her website: ‘Precious Living’.

Kia is now keenly working on “The Three Immortal Blades” series knowing that this book has to be shared with the world and that is what she aims to do now.

Kia writes in her Australian home, trying to focus at times on simply what is running through her head, as her cats either terrorize her legs as scratching posts or her puppy barks in her ear for play-time. And as she continues her series, they grow with her book.

Kia is strongly supported by her friends and family and thanks them dearly for being with her along the bumpy road and nothing would please her more than having your support as well.

Lenora Scheid can tell you much of human nature. After more than a century of traveling from warzone to warzone, she has experienced more than she can handle of mankind’s thirst for blood and power…she cannot, however, tell you what she is. Not exactly human, but not precisely vampire either, Lenora’s whole life has been spent under the watchful eye of her father. With only her dreams of a mysterious blue‐eyed man as company, she has little choice but to follow her father across the world despite his refusal to help her understand her true nature. As Lenora reaches the end of her tolerance with their life of travel and death, she comes face to face with her blue‐eyed man and everything changes. Can this man save her from a life of brutality? Or will the secrets kept from her for so long destroy them both?

“Highly imaginative, captivating, and rich in characters and story… a must read.” --Tia Bach, author of The Tala Prophecies

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
This book had been brewing for years, and then suddenly I just sat down and started writing.

I had two disparate ideas. One was about an immortal girl who witnesses all manner of human brutality as well as the most intense of friendships and loves. The second was around the question ‘what if a vampire isn’t really a vampire?’

At some point, those ideas fused and Naliyah was born.

Q) How long did it take you to write?

This is the totally strange part of this book. Max and Menna, my first novel, took me ten years to write. Don’t Wake Up, my second novel, took about four years. Naliyah took about six weeks. Once I got going, I was so excited about the story that it just flowed. Having a few weeks off work during that time for the holidays helped, but the story really insisted on getting on paper fast.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?

I love it when I get ‘possessed’ by something, like I did with this book. I was so excited about what I was writing that I would just get into the zone and keep going. My husband kept having to interrupt me to remind me to eat (and trust me, I am not a person that often forgets about food).

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Talking about my writing, which is very odd. I have no problem telling anyone about something I baked, my latest crochet project, what I did over the weekend, or my opinion on anything. However, when people ask me about my writing, I find it so uncomfortable to answer. I really have to push myself not to clam up!

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Hmmm…. I would either be Katee Sackhoff, because she is gorgeous and talented and totally fierce or Emma Watson, largely for the same reasons.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Victory! I cleaned out my fridge yesterday so I don’t have to be honest about what was growing in there. So currently, the oldest thing is a brick of 16 year Gouda that my husband has been slowly savoring (I am allergic to cheese, so none for me).

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
More books, I hope! I am almost halfway through the second novel in the series Naliyah is kicking off. I have some ideas for a zombie book following that, and from there… well, who knows!

Killing vampires is easy. Trusting one will be the hardest thing Dahlia Sabin has ever done.

Dahlia has lived a lonely existence as a killer of the undead. Known as The Blushing Death to those that fear her, Dahlia uncovers a plot by Columbus's Master Vampire, Ethan. He intends to raise a demon from the depths of hell to destroy the city, cement his power, and take control.

In her pursuit to stop a demon from manifesting, Dahlia sinks deeper into the city's supernatural underworld and discovers that vampires are not only deadly; one in particular could be dangerous to her very soul and her heart. Patrick, the Master vampire's second-in-command with dark penetrating eyes and a cool, deadly sophistication, can't stay away and Dahlia can't tell him no. There's something that neither of them knows, Ethan wants Dahlia's unleashed power for himself and is willing to do anything to get it.

Dahlia is in a race against time to send the demon back to hell, at war with her better judgment, trusting a dark and intriguing vampire with his own agenda, while struggling to save her own neck. As the portal to hell opens, Dahlia has only herself to rely on in order to survive, if she can . . .

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
I had this woman in my head snapping snarky comebacks and using sarcasm as a weapon for a few months before I actually started to think about where she would most fit. I don’t write contemporary. Some people have a knack for it. I don’t. Anything I touch turns dark and twisted and that was really the only world she fit into. Dahlia wasn’t the biggest, badest, threat around but that didn’t stop her. I liked that about her. I started throwing as much crap at her as I could and knew that this woman, even if she was human and mortal, she would win through sheer grit and determination.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
I wrote the original version really quickly, a few months. It wasn’t very good. I ended up rewriting it twice before I really got it right.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I love disappearing into a world that I created. I don’t have the constraints of the real world and the rules are what I make them. That appeals to me. I might have a little control problem, if you haven’t noticed, and creating the rules makes me feel better.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
I hate editing. I’ve grown to understand its worth but I started believing that every word I put down on paper was golden. My husband informed me that I was completely and utterly incorrect in my assessment. This proved to be a good thing for me. I needed to hear it. I was better off hearing it from him than from countless agents and editors (who still rejected me by the way) who didn’t care if I succeeded or not.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
I think I would want to be Kate Winslet. She looks great, she’s talented, and she can say anything she wants and everyone thinks it’s cute because it’s in a British accent. That woman swears like a sailor and I love her for it.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
I have a package of filo dough in my freezer that I actually moved to my new house. We moved there in 2009. I should probably get rid of that. *sigh*

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
I’ve turned in the sixth installment of the Blushing Death and that should be out some time next year. I’m also working on two new projects. The first is set in a demon dimension where the skies burn and humans are slaves to the whims of the demon race. The second is a classic noir set in the late 1940’s. This second is a more literary swing for me with no paranormal elements which should be fun.

In Like a Lion (The Chimera Chronicles #1) by Karin Shah‏

I live in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio, and worship Jeni's Ice Cream, JK Rowling, Jayne Ann Krentz, the TV show Supernatural, and the movies, Hunt For Red October and The Princess Bride, though not necessarily in that order.  I am a fanatical reader of Romance, particularly Sci-Fi Romance, Fantasy Romance, and Paranormal Romance. I always write the book I want to read, so I tend to jump sub-genre a bit.

My husband and I are the parents of two kids (a girl and a boy) and slaves to two dogs ( a basenji and a vizsla) I was born in Rochester, NY, attended SUNY Oswego, and got my Master's in Information and Library Science at the University of Buffalo. I was a School Librarian in Webster, NY, for five years before starting my writing career. (I still miss my students.)

I have a new series starting with IN LIKE A LION. The Chimera Chronicles follows seven shape shifting brothers, separated in childhood, as they discover they are not alone and find love.

The Second Coming: A Love Story by Scott Pinsker (Theo-Thriller)‏

A nationally-recognized Public Relations expert, Scott Pinsker has worked with professional athletes, musicians, comedians and countless celebs-in-peril, managing everything from crisis communications to reputation management. His analysis of publicity trends and political brand-building tactics has been featured on FOXNews.com, the Washington Times and Jewish World Review.

Pinsker developed the concept for The Second Coming: A Love Story almost 15 years ago, while attending law school in Washington, DC. As the author tells it:

“According to Christian theology, the Devil is thousands of years old and deviously brilliant. I remember wondering one night, if such a creature didn’t want you to know who he was… how would you know? How could you out-think a creature that’s not only smarter than you, but also thousands of years more experienced and capable of supernatural powers? We get fooled by ordinary people every day – and most of the time, they’re not particularly clever! So what prayer would we realistically have to outwit the Prince of Darkness?

Then I had a further thought: If the Devil really wanted to con mankind, he wouldn’t appear with a pitchfork and horns. All those horror movies have it wrong; that’s too obvious. Instead, his best option would be to appear as a holy man – and to attach himself to the faith of his target audience. Because if I were Satan’s publicist, that’s what I’d recommend.

For the last 15 years, I’ve been obsessively researching the subject matter, studying ancient texts and combing through the delicate intricacies of Christian eschatology. The end-result is The Second Coming: A Love Story. You needn’t be a theologist to enjoy this “thought-experiment” but it certainly won’t hurt: I’ve woven-in countless clues and subtle references to the identity of the true Second Coming – and to the identity of Satan – throughout. No matter your faith, no matter your background, this book will challenge you to reconsider the very nature of existence. And that’s the God-honest truth.”

Scott Pinsker lives in Tampa Bay, Florida, with his wife, two young boys, two rescue cats and his 220-pound mastiff. This novel is the first in a trilogy; the follow-up, Three Days Later: A Revenge Story, will be released in 2015.

Two men claim to be the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Each claims the other is Satan in disguise – but only one is telling the truth, and the reader isn’t explicitly told who’s who. The United States soon splits along ideological lines, with Red America swearing allegiance to the conservative “savior” and Blue America (naturally) worshiping at the altar of the other. A furious Culture War-turned-Holy War erupts, with both sides waging a win-at-all-costs marketing campaign to prove their savior’s supremacy.

It’s finally happened: Red America and Blue America are headed for Armageddon!

Adding to the intrigue, the key characters are modernized updates of Bible heroes. For example, Mary Magdalene is recast as Margaret Magdala, Esquire – an unscrupulous attorney who sells her “services” to the highest bidder, until a self-declared savior rescues her from a lifetime of sin.

But was she really saved? Or damned to Hell?

And how well do any of us REALLY know the face of God?
