Homicide detective Anthony Hollownton thought he had seen it all until he and his partner, Rick Nelson, are called to a murder scene unlike any Tony has come across. There are no witnesses and none of the neighbors heard a thing.

Once Tony starts to investigate the facts of the case become stranger and stranger.

So, Hollownton Homicide is my third book. All three have been set in Western Washington. For the most part in Seattle, this book especially. For those of you who have never been I wanted to give you a quick to the groovy place I call home. Instead of waxing on like a slightly crazed person. I am going to give a list of five suggestions of places to visit (should you ever) that make this place to great. This is by no means all-inclusive and let me know in the comments if you think of something I don't mention!

1. The Seattle Underground--- There are several tour companies in Pioneer Square that will take you through the underground. See, what happened was Seattle was built below sea level. This meant for instance that flushing the toilet at certain tide levels would cause a fountain effect! So when most of the city burnt down in a fire, the city took that chance to rebuild. The streets would be raised! Well, when business owners were told this would take ten years to complete they simply built their businesses where they had been before. Long story short, the streets were raised but the first floors of businesses did not. These original sidewalks and first floors are what makes up the Seattle Underground today.

2. The Gum Wall --- Because really, it is a wall covered in gum. It is both disgusting and fascinating!

3. Ye Olde Curiosity Shop---This busy shop on the water front has two mummies, yes real mummies! Several oddity animals (like a two headed cow), a Fiji mermaid hanging from the ceiling, and a coin operated short from the early 1900s or a woman in a bubble bath! *gasp* This is a really cool shop, I see something new every time I am there.

4. The Fremont Troll --- I know for some the troll is an obvious choice but I think to not put it on here would almost be insulting. And I don't want to insult the troll…He looks a like scary.

5. The 'Bettie Page house' --- No, it is not the house that the old school pin-up lived in. But if you are driving into Seattle on I-5 you will see a house with a giant drawing of Bettie Page taking up a good portion of one side of the house. Don't believe me? When a scientist runs an experiment on three separate college campuses that goes horribly wrong, several hundred students find their lives altered forever. They must learn to adapt to their new lives as Werewolves. Immediately after the incident a government program was put in place to keep track of these unwitting subjects. After a year the program falls apart as those in charge argue on how to proceed. 

Without the programmers constantly looking over their shoulders the werewolves have now started to organize themselves. Creating their own hierarchy and alliances.

Jack is the Alpha of Pacific Northwest University's pack F. He thought the government had finally taken a step back and let him and the other Alphas run their packs. Recently, however, he has been hearing rumblings about the programmers wanting to reinstate the program. He thought they were just rumors until he finds out one of his pack is being threatened by several of the lab assistants that took part in the original experiment. Now Jack must scramble to find allies and hunt down those threatening his pack. The more he goes looking the bigger the plot becomes.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
I dreamt about one of the scenes in the book (the first muli-pack meeting) and wrote it down as I woke up. The scene stuck with me so I kept adding on to it. Then it became a story in its own right.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
From start to finish Berman’s Wolves took nine months to write the full draft.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I love being able to create a world. I get to set all the rules and guidelines. Everything is at my creative disposal. I love sitting down to a new idea and writing it down for the first time. I get such a rush from each new creation. Now if only I could get that excited when it comes to finishing I would be set.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Having to read through and edit a story. I will find almost any excuse not to do it. It is kind of like a little kid, ‘oh what is that shiny thing over there…I should investigate.’ It is a bad habit but I always feel that once I finish writing the book is done, I know what happens and I shouldn’t have to touch it anymore. I know, totally absurd!

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
I do not think I would like being anyone else. I like being me, I know where all the trouble spots are. If I took over someone else’s life for a day I wouldn’t know any of the trouble spots…maybe I am over thinking this….

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
That would be some bottles of beer my boyfriend bought before we moved in. I think that makes it about nine months old. Maybe I should check the expiration date on those.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
My next book (I am looking at an August release) is about a homicide detective who catches a case that leads him to a paranormal community that he did not know existed. He struggles with this new knowledge and does not want to believe that the paranormal truly exists. But in order to catch the killing he needs to believe in the paranormal.

The book after that is the second book in me Night World Series, it will be Viking’s book.

A Lady of the Dead only comes along once in a century. Gwen knows this makes her valuable but she hates the constant supervision of her Warrior guards. Her increasing power has gifted her some independence until rumors of war spook her guards enough to report to the King

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
It started with the opening scene, where Gwen states that she was weaned from reality. That idea stuck in my head. What if a character's reality was slightly askew from a young age and they did not realize what they though was reality was not real.

The first couple paragraphs sat on my computer for a long time before I could figure out how to make a story from them.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
Once I started writing it took seven months. But it did sit on my computer for years, just as an idea, before that.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I love being on a role, where the words are just pouring out of you. I enjoy not knowing exactly was is going to happen next until I am typing away and the scenes pour straight from the well of my imagination on to the computer. I love watching the scenes play out in my head as I type. It is such a rush.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
It is a tie between, when you have written yourself into a corner and can't see a way out and the only way to fix it is to gut the story and try to re-stitch it together. The other one is when you have been over a scene so many times that the scene no longer seems to have any life to it. Then you never know if you have over-edited or simply read it too much.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
I have no idea. Maybe I am over thinking it but I have no idea what their lives would be like or what I would be stepping into. The idea of stepping into someone else's life mid step sound almost daunting to me.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
I live with a gentleman I like to call 'He who shall not be tagged' and he has a strange hatred of things being on the fridge. I do not know why, maybe he was stung by an angry wasp repeatedly while looking as a decorated fridge as a child? We will just never know. I do have a set of magnetic salt and pepper shakers that my grandma gave me in college. Those get to stay on the fridge solely because they are from her.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
I hope to have two Urban Fantasy books out within the next six months. They are two different series than my current work Lady of the Dead. After that I am hoping to continue writing fiction for years. Anything from Fantasy to Romance and combinations of the two.
