Don’t Bite the Bridesmaid by Tiffany Allee
CPA-turned-romance-author Tiffany Allee used to battle spreadsheets in Corporate America, and now concentrates on her characters’ battles to find love. Raised in small-town Colorado, Tiffany currently lives in Phoenix, AZ, by way of Chicago and Denver. She is happily married to a secret romantic who tolerates her crazy mutterings.
She writes about ass-kicking heroines and the strong heroes who love them. Her work includes the suspense-driven From the Files of the Otherworlder Enforcement Agency series which revolves around a group of paranormal cops solving crimes and finding love, and Don’t Bite the Bridesmaid, a lighthearted paranormal romance (Entangled Publishing).

Alice Shepard needs one thing: a date for her sister's wedding. And not just any date. A hunk who will make her fiancé rue the day he left her for her best friend. Her drop-dead gorgeous neighbor fits the bill—even if he is a bit quirky and never comes out during the day—and Alice has downed just enough appletinis to ask him. But she makes it quite clear that there will be no funny business.
Spending a week on a cruise ship full of humans while sleeping close to his sexy next-door neighbor sounds like a helluva bad idea to vampire Noah Thorpe. But his friends need time to get him out of a shotgun wedding—a vampire bonding that will tie his fate to a female vampire he's never met. And Alice's offer comes at just the right time.
What could possibly go wrong?
Q) What inspired you to write this story?
When my publisher, Entangled Publishing, decided to launch their new Covet line—described as contemporary romances with a dash of paranormal—I found myself inspired. I thought it sounded like such a fun challenge. The idea of taking familiar romance tropes (like the guy next door) and twisting them in with paranormal ideas was something I found immediately inspiring.
Q) How long did it take you to write?
I can’t remember exactly how long it took since I wrote Don’t Bite the Bridesmaid nearly a year ago. But it was pretty quick for me because it was one of those rare stories that sort of poured out of my brain. I think the initial draft took a couple of months (not counting revising or editing).
Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
Creating something from nothing is probably my favorite thing about writing. And those eureka moments where a solution or idea comes to mind that brings a story together in a way I couldn’t envision while writing the outline. Nothing is better than that feeling. :)
Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
The days when the words don’t flow, and I have to drag them out of my brain one by one.
Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Some leftover pizza from last week. Yeah…need to toss that.
Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
I am currently hard at work drafting the second book in the Sons of Kane series. I recently finished the second round of edits for a new book coming out in October from the Entangled Suspense line. It is a paranormal romantic suspense novel called Temptation by Fire, and while it’s a slightly darker story than Don’t Bite the Bridesmaid, it does have its humorous moments as well. And the fourth book in my From the Files of the Otherworlder Enforcement Agency series, Vampire Games, is coming out in August.
Whew! No wonder I’m so tired, haha.
