SEAL Mitch Grace was among the first humans to see the aliens when they landed at the naval base where he was stationed, but like the rest of humanity, he was powerless to stop them.

Five years later, Mitch awakens from his coma under the care of an alien physician to find that aliens control the planet. Starting alone, as a one man army, he rallies the surviving humans to build a resistance movement to take the planet back from the alien conquerors. After his capture by the aliens, Mitch is forced into intergalactic slavery to become a gladiator, fighting as the sole representative of the human species. Against all odds and far from home, he lays the plans for the reconquest of his homeland.

Reconquest: Mother Earth is the thrilling combination of Red Dawn, Independence Day, and Gladiator.

Q) What inspired you to write Reconquest: Mother Earth?
I have been long fascinated with the concept of an alien invasion, and I find too many of the movies that have been done on the subject are too rah-rah in nature and don’t always cling to a realistic outcome. I think the actual invasion part has really been done quite a bit before. The part that I was more interested in what happens after an alien invasion, and specifically can be done to take the planet back from aliens. I wanted to write a story that would appeal to all readers and not just those that are into science fiction so I mixed a great deal of action, adventure, romance, and even humor into my novel Reconquest: Mother Earth.

Q) How long did it take you to write Reconquest: Mother Earth?
I don’t write a single book continuously. I’m constantly bouncing from one book to the next to a short story and then back again. I would say it took me three to four years to write this novel.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I like to get ideas that I have conceptualized in my mind, and put them to paper. I don’t outline at all, so the story usually evolves over time. I thoroughly enjoy the evolution process with characters, with the overall plot. During the process of writing sometimes I will kill off a character unexpectedly or save a character that I thought I would kill off.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
It’s hard to say since I truly enjoy every aspect of writing. For me the hardest part is probably starting the story. I think that’s the most crucial part of the story, and you have to hit it just right. You have to hook your reader in, introduce your main character, introduce setting, and it all has to be perfect. That balance isn’t always hard to reach.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
I would like to be Jeff Probst, the host of Survivor. He spends his time in exotic locales around the world. He has knowledge of everything going on in the show that the contestants don’t. He’s like an evil genius behind the scenes.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
I’m pretty sure I have a bottle of blue cheese salad dressing that’s growing alien life forms in it right about now.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
I never stop writing. Just recently I finished a manuscript am I currently titling Beyond Ragnarok, which starts off with the Battle of Ragnarok taken from Norse mythology. In my story Loki swerves the Asgardian gods by not appearing at Ragnarok, and instead spending the last decade on Midgard (Earth) creating a virus designed to wipe out most of the population so that he can wrest power from the world’s leaders. It is up to two of the survivors of the Battle of Ragnarok to stop him.

Gabriel Drake had royally fouled up his life. Before his wife died, he was wealthy, respected, and loved. He pissed away the small fortune he and his wife built, drove away his friends, alienated his family, and even took a few precarious steps on the wrong side of the law. He lost his way. The world had forgotten the man he was, and then a head-on collision between his Jeep and a tree changed everything.

Death would have been easier. Instead, he’s woken up in a strange place where all the lost and forgotten things and people of our world go to rest. The laws of physics seem to be driven more by magic than logic. Cats fly and talk into his mind. He’s in a place where real power has been trampled under the foot of a maniacal emperor, and Gabriel alone has the power to free these forgotten people from the emperor’s iron grip. Which will Gabriel save: these lost and broken people, or his own shattered life?

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
In a former job, I traveled extensively around the US. When you go around this country and probably others, you come across all of these abandoned houses, factories, silos, all kinds of things. I thought about those places. At one time, they were someone’s world. Someone lived there, worked there, built that place with their own hands. Now they sit empty and forgotten. I think there’s a magic to that.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
The Lost and Broken Realm took me about a year to write the first draft, and then another six months or so of editing, alpha reading, more editing, beta reading, and a few more rounds of editing.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
When the book takes an unexpected turn. You’re going along, writing your story, and then a character does something you didn’t expect. I know that sounds strange to non-writers, but that’s how it works for me. The characters live in me and I’m just jotting down what happens.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Editing. Seriously, going over your entire book with a fine-toothed comb is maddening. There’s so much there and when you decide you need to change something, it can ripple throughout hundred of pages.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Mukesh Ambani. He’s this filthy-rich businessman in India that has built a 400,000 square foot, $1 billion dollar home in Mumbai, which is famous for its huge slums. I would donate that “house” to the poor that need housing and education, then give away as many of his assets as possible to the poor. He won’t be happy after that day, but the world will be better off.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
I cook quite a bit and we clean out the fridge every week, so I don’t have a cool answer for this. Probably our baking soda. Been there a couple years, so we probably need a new one for deodorizing.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
Currently, I’m writing the sequel to The Lost and Broken Realm, which has the working title Reclaiming the Lost. I have so many story ideas, though, spanning cyberpunk, dystopic, space opera, and superhero fiction.

Author Kate Baray begins her new paranormal romance series with Lost Library, a tale of werewolves, magic, adventure and romance.

John Braxton arrives unannounced on Lizzie’s doorstep. Little does she know that when she invites him to a drink on the porch, Lizzie opens the door to a secret world of werewolves—oops, they don’t like that name!—Lycan, magic, spelled books, and power hungry evildoers. Caught up in one man’s search for power, Lizzie soon begins to uncover surprising secrets about her own past and powers.

And romance with a serious but sexy Lycan? It might just happen…

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
A dear friend encouraged me to “sit down and write one scene” when we were chatting about whether or not creative writing was something I’d enjoy. I found the type of writing I’d previously done (legal and instructional) to be a chore. Since I’d not attempted creative writing as an adult, I decided to give it a try. I followed my friend’s advice and immediately went home to write that one scene. I had so much fun writing it, I decided to give a novel a try. That scene eventually became the first chapter of my first book, Lost Library. I might owe that friend a little favor…or ten.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
Initial draft, 4-5 weeks. There’s obviously a lot that happens after that, and a number of friends, family, beta readers, and editors that spend a quantity of time, as well.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
Making all of the little pieces come together in a way that---hopefully—makes sense and creates an interesting and entertaining story.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
I find it quite difficult to write one manuscript and edit another simultaneously. That has been a challenge as I work on the second book in the series.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Audrey Hepburn. All of those beautiful clothes…

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
I’m not sure I want to know what this says about me, but after some deep exploration I found salad dressing expiring in 2010 only to be further dismayed by an even older find of another dressing expiring January 2009. In my defense, I can only say that these items have now been removed… :)

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
Thanks so much for asking! Lost Library is the first in the series. I have two additional books planned featuring Lizzie and John, the main characters of Lost Library. As well as a fourth book tentatively slated to feature Max and Kenna. Book two in the series is scheduled for release this Summer!

As William and Sydney struggle to overcome their impossible circumstances, they start to wonder if the connection of two Star-Crossed lovers will be enough to save them from certain doom.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
My love for young people. There is so much potential in encouraging and inspiring young people to do great things. The more we are able to poor into one another, the better off the entire planet will be. I also got a lot of my inspiration to write from God. He is the voice in my head that keeps me going. He supplied the base for The Star-Crossed Saga series from its conception and now I have been able to take it forward with the trilogy and the screenplay for movie adaptation. It has become more than just a book, but now it is a franchise.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
It has been a labor of love. Four years in the making. Originally took me about 4 months to write, then about two months of editing. I brought it out under a local small press company and then I got a literary agent and pitched it some larger publishers. Finally, I settled on Winter Goose and hey have been incredible in helping me give it a fresh facelift, inside and out. The storytelling is much richer and engrossing.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
Creating living worlds that people can live in. I think we all need a moment to step away from our lives. Books are the greatest medium to do so. I love to put together something that everyone can engage in.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
The time it takes. Lol. I have about 10 different stories I want to write. I want so badly to put out all my stories, tomorrow. But I realize that it takes time and that the dedication to honing and perfecting the story is critical to success.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Leonardo Dicaprio. Wired, right? I think he has the opportunity to play any role he wants. If I could actually pick a role, it would be a bounty hunter who falls in love and disregard mission for the sake f relationship. Hey, that’s my story. Lol. I guess I want to be William.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Almond milk. I always let that thing spoil.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
Craziness. I have so many stories that will be told. In the coming year alone, I have about five books that will be released. And I promise you that each one has an original story with characters that jump from the page and action that keeps you in the edge of your seat.

Syphon's Song by Anise Rae

Anise Rae grew up among the cornfields and soybeans of Ohio, dreaming of being a ballerina, an astronaut, and a romance writer. Someone’s playing pranks. The body of the late Casteel patriarch has been stolen and gifted to the family’s enemy, the powerful Rallises. As far as Bronte Casteel is concerned, they can keep it. She hasn’t spoken to her family in thirteen years, not since they exiled her from society for her lack of mage power. But she’s a syphon mage, able drain another mage’s power. Syphons’ destinies are always the same: death by fiery stake. She hides her secret by living among the Nons--powerless humans and the lowest class in the Republic. When her family orders her to go plead for the body’s return, she comes face to face with the one man who knows her secret.

Colonel Vincent Rallis isn’t letting his syphon get away this time. Not when she’s under suspicion of body-napping and aiding anti-mage terrorists. He’ll prove her innocence whether she wants him to or not, and then convince her they belong together...forever.

Vincent’s help comes with a steep price: Bronte must reveal her power. The inevitable ensuing witch-hunt and trial would be bad enough, but even a tough girl might buckle if her prosecutors are her own parents.

CONTENT WARNING: Hot, steamy nights with the colonel’s magic touch .  A Lyrical Press Paranormal Romance.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
Almost all my stories are inspired by some type of ‘what if’ question. It’s a mental game I play with myself all the time. It keeps me entertained. (It’s important to be able to entertain yourself, you know.) It’s also one of the best parts of being a writer. The inspiration for Syphon’s Song came from one of those sessions. Here’s the question I came up with: what if it wasn’t Puritans who sailed on the Mayflower to the New World seeking freedom from persecution? What if it was witches?

Fast forward three hundred years or so and voila! Welcome to the modern day Republic of Mage Territories.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
The first draft probably took around five months. The editing took forever. I always feel like there’s something I can do to make the story better.

I wrote the story in late 2011. It was nominated for an award in 2012. I signed a contract for it in 2013 and it was published in 2014. Geesh! See? That did take forever, though in that time, I also wrote two more books.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I love plotting because it means I get to sit around and daydream. Dreaming up stories is one of my favorite things in the world.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
At one point in my writing life, I would have had said that editing is my least favorite part. But it’s not anymore, at least not the developmental editing where I’m remedying sticky plot points or correcting a character’s actions to be more in line with his/her personality. I want my books to be the best they possibly can be, so I don’t mind fixing draft after draft in that aspect.

I confess that I am not good at line editing, which is the last type of editing that a manuscript goes through. Looking for missing words, incorrect punctuation and misspellings takes extreme focus. Line editing is the equivalent of combing through a kid’s hair that’s riddled with lice and trying to get out all the nits. Uh huh. That’s right. Line editing is like delousing a kid’s head. My brain is simply not detail oriented like that. I get distracted by the story, and all of the sudden I’m reading for fun instead of combing through the words for mistakes.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Hmm. This is tricky. I’m tempted to say someone like Natalie Portman because she’s beautiful and her smile makes me think she must be a nice person. Plus she got to kiss Chris Hemsworth. But if I only got to be her for one day, then after that, my life would really suck by comparison. Besides that, she’s already kissed Chris, so I wouldn’t get to kiss him if I were going to be her today or tomorrow.

It’s a similar situation with someone like J.K. Rowling. Yes, she lives in a great, big fancy house and she writes great books, but I’ve still got to come back to my laundry piles and dirty dishes. So I’m thinking I need to pick someone I admire, who does great but really hard work. I want to come back grateful to be me. So…who does that leave?

I’ve got to go Google. I’ll be right back.

Ok.

I’m going to be Thomas Frieden. He’s a very famous man. What? You’ve not heard of him? He’s the director of the CDC, of course! If I were Tom for a day…I bet he goes by Tom, don’t you? Even if he doesn’t, the day that I’m him, he’s going to be called Tom. Anyway, if I were Tom, I could soak up his brain, which must be overflowing because he’s got an MD and MPH, and absorb all his experiences. Then I’d have fabulous details to twist and squeeze and shape into my worldbuilding.

I’m sure being the director of the CDC is a very demanding occupation. It would probably be a relief to get back to my little library job and come home to write books. And do laundry. Tom probably doesn’t do laundry.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Well, finding out the answer to this was a sobering experience. I could tell you that it’s a jar of fig preserves, but I’m pretty sure that would be a lie. I think the oldest thing in my fridge is a bottle of champagne. Unopened. And that really makes me sad. What the heck have I been doing with my life?

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
Readers can expect me to drink that bottle of champagne. Other than that, Enchanter’s Echo, book two in the Mayflower Mages series, is sitting on an editor’s desk. Book three, Sorcerer’s Spin is on my desk. Actually, that’s not quite true. It’s only on my desk if I put my head on the desk since most of it’s still in my brain. But I’m working on fixing that.

One thing is for sure: someone close to both Carolyn and Jack has A Taste For Killing.

Breathless Press
Smashwords

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
I write for Breathless Press and they opened a new "Covert" line. I wanted to try something different so I went for a sexy suspense book. Then I liked the characters so much I wrote a sequel. Each book is a stand-alone book though.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
I think it took me about a month to write the first book, A Taste For Killing, and then about two months to write the sequel, A Taste For Danger.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I love to write succinctly and my favorite thing is to write shorties. For example I have a shortie that just came out with Breathless press called Eyes Only. It is more involved with the clandestine than The Chasing The Taste books which focus on the characters and their detective adventures. I also love to write lots of twists and turns and surprise endings. For example, Eyes Only and both my stories in the Breathless Press Anthology, My Bloody Valentine all have surprise endings.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Starting. Authors are experts at procrastination. I once wrote a whole book just to put off writing a different book!

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
I think Neil Gaiman. Just to be inside his head for a day would be a great learning experience.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
I had to go look. I think the frozen enchilada dinner in the freezer is the oldest. It's been there for probably six months.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
Well, A Taste For Killing is a stand-alone book. But I like these characters so the sequel is already done. The sequel, A Taste For Danger, comes out in June. So now is the perfect time to catch up! Then I would look for some more shorties probably and later, some anthology stories. Eventually I am also going to write a some science-fiction.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
My son and I do a lot of backpacking and skiing together and we talk about all kinds of things on those trips. During one discussion (on a hike deep inside Olympic National Park) we were talking about animal intelligence and wondering if genius ever occurs in animals. That “wondering” led to a lot of reading and research after I returned home, and gradually a story began to take shape.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
About two years from start to finish.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I love the feeling of being “in the zone” while writing. That mental state when ideas are flowing and you know in your bones that you’re working on a cool story. It’s not always easy to find that zone, but it’s wonderful when you get there.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Honestly, I like every aspect of it, from brainstorming the initial idea to final edit and proofreading. The whole process is a blast.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Assuming it could be someone from history I’d say Teddy Roosevelt. Just read a biography about T.R. and the guy was one of the most amazing, resilient, resourceful human beings who has ever lived. He overcame enormous personal challenges through sheer willpower, determination and a positive attitude. And he was a great president. An amazing guy.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Old Rasputin Beer. One of my favorite beers.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
I’m in the midst of research for a new novel called THE HEALER about a man who discovers later in life that he has a special gift for healing. I’m super excited about the story and hope to have the book completed in about a year.

Thanks so much for your questions and for featuring EXODUS 2022 on your site!

But ten years after watching life drain from her former mentor’s and first love’s eyes, her skills for divining the predictable are lost. The first draft took four months. The revisions took six months.

Noon's best friend, Peter Aster, is an Angel spellcaster who thinks he has the answer to Noon's predicament - an ancient, mysterious, lost spell that can turn Noon into the Mederi she always wanted to be. Only one person stands in the way of Noon's dream - Ari Carmine, a fellow classmate who seems fascinated by Noon's fiery side.

“There is a fresh new voice in urban fantasy, and she has a unique take on Armageddon…With her unusual heroine, Noon Onyx, Archer has created a brilliant character who struggles against fate to find her place in the world. “Archer is now down on my ‘never miss’ author list.”–Night Owl Reviews

“[A] fascinating story line… Jill Archer has created a dark world that will grab your attention from the very start.”—The Reading Cafe

Noon Onyx is the first woman in memory to wield waning magic. Her unique abilities, paired with a lack of control and reluctance to kill, have branded her as an outsider from her peers. Only her powerful lover, Ari Carmine, and a roguish and mysterious Angel, Rafe Sinclair, support her unconventional ways.

When Noon is shipped off to a remote outpost to investigate several unusual disappearances, it seems Luck is not on her side. But when the outpost settlers claim that an ancient and evil foe has stepped out of legend to commit the crimes, Noon realizes that she could be facing something much worse than she ever imagined…

PRAISE FOR FIERY EDGE OF STEEL:
“Archer delves deeper into the enticing and magical world of Dark Light of Day in this original and clever urban fantasy… Excitement and action leap from the pages as Archer’s skill with description pulls readers fully into her magical world.” Publishers Weekly

“[D]arkly disturbing in the very best of ways, with complex characters, extremely detailed scenes, and a believability that sucks you in like world-bending magic.” Bitten By Books

“[A] moving and fun story about choices and consequences and love… If you like your fantasy with a twist, blended with some evil, [and] an incredible mystery… grab this series and get ready for book three.” Cabin Goddess

“[Noon] is extremely brave and outspoken. She is passionate and strong and she doesn’t falter in her core beliefs… Archer has a great ability to keep the story moving along through character’s dialogue and through her imaginative and unique world… Fiery Edge of Steel is a great follow up second book in this series.” Rabid Reads

Double Alchemy by Susan MacNicol‏

Sue Mac Nicol was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom. At the age of eight, her family moved to Johannesburg, South Africa where she stayed for nearly thirty years before arriving back in the UK in December 2000. She has written ten novels, two novellas and a screenplay since February 2012 and clearly believes in keeping herself busy. She has found herself wanting to stay in the genre that is M/M Romance so more can definitely be expected.

Sue is a member of Romance Writers of America and Romantic Novelists Association in the UK. She is also a member of a rather unique writing group, called the Talliston Writer’s Circle, which in itself has a story all of its own to tell and lives in the rural village of Bocking, in Essex, with her family. Her plan is to keep writing as long as her muse sits upon her shoulder. Her dream is to one day make enough money to give up the day job and get that big old house in the English countryside overlooking a river, where she can write all day and continue to indulge her passion for telling stories.

Powerful yet tormented modern warlock Quinn Fairmont must initiate the silver-eyed Cade Mairston into the world of witchfinders, Withinners, and what can happen when two men fall truly, madly, deeply in love.

THE WORLD IN SHADOW

In modern London there lurks a warlock, Quinn Fairmont. Dangerous, powerful, tortured, sharing his body with the soul of an ancient Welsh sorcerer, Quinn is never alone—and never wholly himself. He fights against all those who would exploit his kind. He takes pleasure where he can find it.

In the forest of Hampstead Heath, Quinn’s hometown, Cade Mairston appears to him like a waking dream. Lithe, lean and silver-eyed, he evokes feelings in Quinn unlike any other: lust with true affection, immediate and shocking. Cade is clearly more than he seems. And yet, if a man of the world, Cade is innocent. He knows nothing of warlocks, witchfinders or Withinners. He knows nothing of what he is, what he might be, or what he might feel. For him, the story is just beginning. Magyck, peril and passion await.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
I live in Essex, the site where Matthew Hopkins was prevalent as the Witchfinder General. I love the village of Mistley and have spent quite a lot of time out there. It’s a beautiful part of the country. I’m also Wiccan so I have an interest in witchcraft and the occult. My bookcase is filled with all sorts of fascinating studies and occult books, including an old one by Aleister Crowley. So it wasn’t a big stretch to think about writing about a Warlock and a Water Sprite. Where the idea for the Withinner came from, I have no idea J Chalk it up to a very active imagination.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
Double Alchemy took me about eight weeks to finish both books. I tend to obsess when I start and I am very focused on writing a story once I start. It was no hardship though. Every waking moment was spent on this story to the detriment of all (and everyone) else.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
That it’s mine. It’s something only I can do, these ideas and thoughts coming out of my head, and I can make my characters’ world mine just for a short time. I can get lost in their story, their lives and their anguish and joy. I can make them love, hate, fear. And at the end of it I can give them a HEA which unfortunately some people don’t always get in real life.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
I used to think it was the edits, but now I enjoy them as they’ve taught me such a lot about how to be a better writer. So while I still feel that frisson of fear each time I get an email from my editor, it’s not as bad as it used to be. I think perhaps my worst thing is that an author can write these stories but getting people to read them is even more difficult. I’d love to write a wonderful book and give it to someone and it becomes a huge success but we all know that’s not the way it works. So I tend to get a bit frustrated, like any writer does, about the critical time and effort needed in building my author platform and trying to keep things fresh and entertaining for my readers.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Well, I’d choose to be a famous fictional character. I’d want to be Sherlock Holmes. He may have been real, who knows ? But I love his persona, his quirkiness, his apparent disregard for human emotions and his very own fallible nature. I’d want to solve crimes, running around Victorian London, spending time at beautiful old country manors and hob-nobbing with the cream of society while solving crimes with my unique, keen and analytical brain.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
It’s a jar of mashed chilies, probably about 3 months old but still perfectly good for cooking. There’s a bit of an obsession in Britain for the use of ‘sell by dates’ something I’ve never really understood. If it hasn’t got mould, looks okay, smells okay, tastes okay then the chances are it’s good for another week.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
I begin writing a series of novellas called ‘Men in London’. It’s a set of tales about different men and professions meeting in a restaurant called Galileo’s in London. The restaurant will form the central background to each couple’s story and they’ll be introduced in each previous book. The first book in the series is called ‘Love me Senseless’ and it’s the story of Gideon Trent, owner of the restaurant and upcoming whizz kid chef, Eddy Luca. Gideon loses his sense of smell and taste in a tragic accident and it’s up to Eddy to bring Gideon back to the world and make him believe in himself again.

When a scientist runs an experiment on three separate college campuses that goes horribly wrong, several hundred students find their lives altered forever. They must learn to adapt to their new lives as Werewolves. Immediately after the incident a government program was put in place to keep track of these unwitting subjects. After a year the program falls apart as those in charge argue on how to proceed.

Without the programmers constantly looking over their shoulders the werewolves have now started to organize themselves. Creating their own hierarchy and alliances.

Jack is the Alpha of Pacific Northwest University's pack F. He thought the government had finally taken a step back and let him and the other Alphas run their packs. Recently, however, he has been hearing rumblings about the programmers wanting to reinstate the program. He thought they were just rumors until he finds out one of his pack is being threatened by several of the lab assistants that took part in the original experiment. Now Jack must scramble to find allies and hunt down those threatening his pack. The more he goes looking the bigger the plot becomes.

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
I dreamt about one of the scenes in the book (the first muli-pack meeting) and wrote it down as I woke up. The scene stuck with me so I kept adding on to it. Then it became a story in its own right.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
From start to finish Berman’s Wolves took nine months to write the full draft.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I love being able to create a world. I get to set all the rules and guidelines. Everything is at my creative disposal. I love sitting down to a new idea and writing it down for the first time. I get such a rush from each new creation. Now if only I could get that excited when it comes to finishing I would be set.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Having to read through and edit a story. I will find almost any excuse not to do it. It is kind of like a little kid, ‘oh what is that shiny thing over there…I should investigate.’ It is a bad habit but I always feel that once I finish writing the book is done, I know what happens and I shouldn’t have to touch it anymore. I know, totally absurd!

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
I do not think I would like being anyone else. I like being me, I know where all the trouble spots are. If I took over someone else’s life for a day I wouldn’t know any of the trouble spots…maybe I am over thinking this….

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
That would be some bottles of beer my boyfriend bought before we moved in. I think that makes it about nine months old. Maybe I should check the expiration date on those.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
My next book (I am looking at an August release) is about a homicide detective who catches a case that leads him to a paranormal community that he did not know existed. He struggles with this new knowledge and does not want to believe that the paranormal truly exists. But in order to catch the killing he needs to believe in the paranormal.

The book after that is the second book in me Night World Series, it will be Viking’s book.

Book Trailer

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
Well, I’ve been writing crime fiction, suspense and paranormal romance for nearly a decade. As someone who lives in the lifestyle I found myself increasingly annoyed by books written by authors who clearly had not even attempted some of the sexual escapades of which they write.

My husband suggested that I write erotica and I was floored at first. I mean, we have a family! And they’re religious!

But immediately, the Dirty White Candy series flooded my brain, so I just sat down and wrote it, went through the usual process of edit/rewrite/swear & repeat! Then I submitted it as a trilogy to a few different publishers and Liquid Silver Books scooped it up!

Q) How long did it take you to write?
The Beginning (Book 1) took me about two weeks to write the first draft. The whole trilogy took me four months from conception to last word. I type about 85 words per minute so it takes me no time to write a story after I have the story board together.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I literally see the story playing out in my head like a movie. I physiologically experience the book as I’m writing. It makes each novel very special to me.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Too much time alone. I’m okay being by myself but too much time alone is just too much. And… I …hate…edits. They melt my brain.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Jenna Marbles. I want to be just that funny for one day.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
3 year old hootch (shhh)

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
My editor from LSB has encouraged me to keep my eyes peeled on their call for submissions, so I’m sure this isn’t the end of my writing in the erotica genre. I’ve also started the Erotica Authors Panel. This is a live-on-the-air event where readers can come and talk to writers via the interwebz. They can see them and interact with them in real-time. This is priceless for starving artists and readers who just don’t have the money or time to make it to a book conference.

Hunted to near extinction by an alien race called the Ko, my people have run from Earth and drifted so far among the stars we can’t remember the way back. We live everywhere, but call nowhere home. The Ko want us erased from existence and memory. They don’t even want our DNA in the space dust. Humans disguise themselves as other alien species and hide in plain sight. It’s the only way we can survive.

I believe in the myth of Earth. I’ve even discovered a bona fide book written in the dead language of my people. My man, Brody, dreams of a secret human colony. He’s searched for years, hunting any rumor we’ve run across, and finally he’s made contact. Usually, he’s the one grounding me to station and keeping my head out of the atmosphere. Time for me to return the favor…that is, if I can ditch the Ko who’ve discovered me, thanks to my incessant artifact-hunting. If we don’t make our rendezvous, and the Ko don’t kill me, Brody just might…

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
After a long day at my old nine-to-five job, I came home and collapsed on my couch. It was just one of those days where I wished I was anywhere but there at that moment—sailing on a cruise, lounging on a beach, etc. I imagined sipping on a piƱa colada, with a miniature pink umbrella poking out of my glass. Then I thought, How awesome would it be to travel anywhere my imagination takes me? Whether it was this world or one that didn’t exist, the idea that I could escape to another time and place, be whoever I wanted to be, sounded like so much fun—and so did turning that concept into a story.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
The original first draft was written way back in 2009, and it took me about three months to write. This time around, though, it only took a couple of months, because the book was written. I just had to do some major editing and change the plot, so it could be converted from a standalone novel to a full-blown trilogy.

Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
For me, it’s the escapism. It’s the same rush I get when I’m reading. I’m lost in incredible worlds, living lives I’ve only dreamed of. The outside world—the real world—doesn’t exist anymore; it’s just the story and me.
Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Getting the first draft written. I know a lot of authors say this is the easiest step for them, but it’s not for me. Even though I outline like crazy, and know everything that’s going to happen, the first draft is always the slowest process.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Probably J.K. Rowling. I’d love to step inside her imagination.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Oh, wow. Um… I think there are some leftovers from a couple of weeks ago. I’m sure they’re growing a new species by now.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
I plan on finishing the Mind’s Eye trilogy this year, and then I’ll be moving on to an epic fantasy series about four queens battling for a powerful, yet sacred, crystal.

Dumah ran away from the orphanage with her brother Kian, but what they found on the streets separated them forever. Follow the life of Dumah and find out the motivation behind Dameon's advancements for Ali Maney.

This is an accompaniment novella to She Speaks to Angels and Falling Angels, and Angel Codes from the AngelFire Chronicles.

Book Trailer

Q) What inspired you to write this story?
Good Question. I finished She Speaks to Angels and wanted to do Falling angels next, but something kept bugging me —another character. My mind kept spinning around this character Dumah who turns out to be Kian’s sister and Dameon’s lover. I thought I had to tell her story before I go into Falling Angels and introduce her to readers. She just seemed so central to the story and motivations of both Dameon and Kian.

Q) How long did it take you to write?
I wrote the story in about a few night. Each night after work with the darkness visible outside my window.
Q) What is your favorite thing about writing?
I love story telling and developing characters as well as worlds. They allow us to peak inside of ourselves, inside of the human condition and explore.

Q) What is your least favorite thing about writing?
Ummm, I used to say editing but now I kinda like it too. I’d have to say promoting actually.

Q) If you could be any famous person for one day, who would you be and why?
Another good question! I think I’d be Albert Einstein and see how he saw the world or Cleopatra with all her dominance and strength. If I could be anything though, I’d choose to be a Bonobo for a day, and come back knowing what they actually think and feel.

Q) What is the oldest thing in your fridge and how old is it?
Gosh, I throw out stuff all the time. I don’t like old food. Bread seems to get old fast and moldy, but it is not in my fridge. I’d have to say vegetables tend to wither uneaten.

Q) What can readers expect from you in the future?
Falling Angels very soon followed by Angel Codes a few months later and it completes the AngelFire Chronicles. Finally Mers, the last book in the Mer Chronicles. Mers is only comprised of two books. We find out about Ethan, his mum and sister and all their intentions. One confusing family. LOL.

I will then finishing my film Shifters http://shifterevolutions.blogspot.com and promoting the film and will start my new book line in September 2014 under M. Black (Dystopian and Thriller novels).http://miablackthrillers.blogspot.com as well as writing more for my other book line http://rebeccamayromances.blogspot.com which is historical and contemporary romances.

But check my amiblackwelder.blogspot.com which is made up of paranormal and scifi novels.
